How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? The fact that the students were gifting another class in NZ their work made them take that much more care, and they cannot wait to open their parcel!
Schoolkit you have done it again. As I sit here and reflect on the recent writing experience you have provided for our tamariki I can do nothing but smile. The conversations, vocabulary developed, and curiosity explored was awesome to see! Reluctant writers fully engaged in the writing process with 100% success was a highlight for me. The fact that they have a breakthrough and thought writing was ‘actually fun’ was the best part. I loved the lesson plan, how adaptable it was, and the awesome links, made the whole experience a breeze! I cannot wait to sign up next year!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Where are still awaiting ours, but they class are waiting with anticipation.
Once my class fully got into describing the objects that could see the potential (and the easyness) of being poetic. They became excited when they were using all the 'sticky' words, as they have rarely used them. Seeing and helping them complete a poem, you could see the pride of accomplishment on their faces.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Children learnt about snail mail/courier services and we even talked about jobs that people can do if they were a part of this project. There were some talks around ";starting up your own business too";
A fantastic resource. Would be nice to receive this in the early days of term 1 so chn can get excited from day 1.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Was nice to write for someone else
Timing and sharing was fine but with my low writers this was a really hard task. The instructions could have actually have had a little more detail for teachers to understand

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Spiralled into a new inquiry project of systems including mail. My kids especially loved that they had an authentic audience, but getting the package in return was fun, too.
We're year 3/4 split, worth a young show so it ended up really quite challenging for us this year, but the activities were fantastic despite being a bit beyond us. I will keep the lessons for the future.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Very good, class loved the idea of receiving mail. It did put pressure on us to complete the work on time.
We found the 18 word poem very good with fantastic results. I adjusted slightly to meet the needs of my class though.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? My class loved finding out about the other class and school which connected in with our reading as well. We are yet to receive our poems but they are excited
My class loved this box of goodness. They did find the introductory poetry about colours and wow ideas and words easier than the objects.
