They enjoyed looking at other students ideas and reading their poems and forming connections between their own poems and the other schools poems.
“The students loved it, especially using the items to write a poem. They really got into thinking about words and the affects they have on your writing. It was a great teaching tool. I would definitely do it again.”

The kids were so excited to be writing for someone else and equally excited to await the package from our buddy school.
“Get NZ writing was my first experience with School Kit and it was amazing. It was great to see the whole class engaged in writing, especially those kids who are normaly reluctant to write. Thank you School Kit!”

Made it more meaningful to the children.
“This is my second year being a part of the Get New Zealand Writing experience and this year was even better then last year! My students loved the wee treasures that came with the kit and really enjoyed writing their Anagram Poems. So much thought and love went into our pack that was sent away. Thank you so much for this, I will be signing up for next year!!”

This went well, and it was interesting to see the other class (at the same level) were equally challenge and presented a similar standard of work.
“We found some tasks challenging at a yr3/4 level. Creative such a large word bank took a long time, and we didn't make it with many students. we enjoyed making a class poem about a colour, this went well and students felt success.”
