“My team of teachers and I completed 'The Book of the Road'. Not a good writing experience, extremely complicated and time consuming for our 5 classes. In hindsight we would have preferred a postcard swap where all the postcards join together to form a Kiwiana image or something similar. Students could have written about things in their local community/environment on the other side of the postcard. This would have been simple but good and not a massive task for teachers to facilitate.”
“Hi there, we completed this kit in our Year 7/8 team and finished (and posted!) just before going into lockdown.
We really enjoyed the creative ideas in this kit, the “this is just to say poem” was hilarious and the kids enjoyed using google maps and finding landmarks and street names across the country.
As teachers we found some of the kit a bit confusing, which made elements difficult to teach (the stress off an impending lockdown didn’t help!!) but overall it was an awesome learning experience we as teachers abs our tamariki enjoyed. Thank you so much”

It did become problematic with lockdown thrown in the mix and this interrupted the flow somewhat, however we managed to send the writing away and receive some in return.”
