“Another great Kit - really love being extended myself and looking / learning new things that I didn't know before. The children really got a lot out of it and thoroughly enjoyed learning different poetry styles / techniques.
The class were a little disappointed that the parcel we received had many cards missing.
The glasses were a big hit!!”
“Although this one was a lot more detailed and harder than previous years, it was just as enjoyable. Kids loved the interactive maps they designed and delving into our area deeper hooked into our Inquiry topic for Term 1.”
“The Kit is exciting because it has the pens, papers, glasses etc that engage children. My class particularly liked the 3D glasses and thought up additional learning that could be done with the glasses. I was pleased with the honesty of my class in the ";This is just to say' poems and it helped me learn some new things about my students. We decided to write an extra piece of writing to our buddy class with the ideas we got out of the kit. Thank you very much.”
“Thanks for the wonderful resource and for giving us the opportunity to send it post-Lockdown. Our students have loved the tasks &; especially receiving the mail &; reading it with their 3-D glasses.”
“My students really enjoyed this unit, especially the poetry. Thanks so much for all the hard work and monetary contribution that makes this kit fabulous!”
“The students loved the activities in this poem especially writing their confessions. The glasses were also another highlight and they enjoyed learning about Google maps too. Apart from the new writing skills they gained there were so many other skills that the students gained too. Thank you we really appreciated it and my students were so excited to get the poems back from other students”
“This one was a bit tricky for my year 4 class. Some of the video resources were also a bit adult like and went over their head. We managed to get it done and sent off to our buddy class. The children were disappointed that they didn’t get to decorate the postcards this year, but were excited to use the 3D glasses with the postcards and poster. As a teacher I also preferred last years get nz writing kit and the previous years metaphor kits. I feel like this was quite a mature and complex way of writing. The highlight in learning was having to think of sentences with only 6 sentences. That was great as the kids had to play around with their ideas adding and removing or changing words to make it fit.”
“My class really loved the ‘This is just to say’ poems. I really enjoyed seeing their ‘confessions’. The 3-D glasses were definitely a hit. The map activity searching for place and street names had a mixed response with some children struggling and others engaging really well with the task.”
