What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? Perseverance, resilience. Hard working attitude - never give up.
My students were totally engaged with placing all the information onto the NZ Map. They enjoyed forming questions to ask local farmers for their interview. This was then a base for their reporting back to the class about their person. The information being shared back gave the students, a real insight into farming. As teacher, I found the links and access to resources and information so valuable. It makes the lessons so much more meaningful for the students to relate to.

I had a class of 20 Y9 students. I would say the kit was a little low level for them, but the resources were fantastic, and so much time and effort had been put into collecting the letters. Thank you!

Hi I used the kit to fit into our school production 'The Way We Were' based on our school and the community hall with my class of Year 4 &; 5 students. Some of the content did not fit and/or was too difficult for the students to action independently. I would like to thank the people who shared their stories growing up on a farm as that was an aspect we enjoyed the most.

He rawe rawa atu te rauemi nei. My class really enjoyed this resource this year, it aligned with what we were learning in class. It was awesome to hear such differing views. Most of my tamariki did not know that much about rural living so they really enjoyed this kit. Thank you so much

This was fantastic :) Being from a rural area, the students loved interviewing people from not only their family, but also neighbours. For those that lived in the near by town, they were able to interview me, as I was from a farm.

What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? Sustainability
Used with an able y9 class as part of our look at sustainability. Kids were quite enthralled by what actually goes on as opposed to what they believe. Excellent for a very urban bunch.

What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? Very reflective.
Only a group of 8 students did this and loved it. They enjoyed communicating with farmers formulating their own interviews and displaying their own work. Would love to do this again for sure.

Students really enjoyed reading about real people, in real situations. They connected with these people as we are from a farming community ourselves, and with Ag day around the corner it was a great opportunity to interview the farming community.
