So good- loved reading the letters and playing detectives as to what the questions the farmers were asked were. Loved seeing students interact with community members and seeing them become more confident at interviewing an adult. (posted some photos on your FB page.- Henderson Primary school)

This was a really interesting experience. The class particularly enjoyed hearing from one man specifically that they interviewed about his roots and his story. He came into school and met with them. They interviewed him, asked questions and he later shared some further information with them via email. This was particularly engaging for the boys in our class, which was awesome. They then wrote back from their perspective or their families point of view. While this kit was mostly delivered by a relief teacher I had read several pieces of writing, which as mentioned was a great success to engage our boys to write. Thank you once again SCHOOL KIT for supplying an engaging and motivating kit.

What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? Self-confidence, ambition, knowing you roots/identity. Really awesome stuff that linked nicely with the wellbeing focus we have had.
This kit was awesome for my students at a semi-rural school. All students had a story to share and made connections very quickly. They were engaged and particularly interested in the digital NZ stories website and we are looking at using it in our upcoming school wide inquiry - great resource!

What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? -
We have a high number of girls who are from farms at the school, so they are loving having a topic they can relate to. Unfortunately with the kit being sent out late, we are still completing the unit. I asked my girls to do their interviews over the holidays, so they will start their posters this week. Other classes that have come into the room have loved looking at our map display and reading the letters from the noteworthy New Zealanders.

What were some of the values that the people your students interviewed talked about? Hard work Never give up Make a mistake keep going
Great kit for children to independently take ownership of. They learnt a lot from family members and friends about life on the farm. They were all so excited to take part. Display not fully finished yet as we are still completing it this term. This is what we have so far.
