“Kit has been great in that we could tie in science experiments and concepts even as we have been in lockdown. Prior to lockdown our kids had read lots on Jean. If we ever get back our aim is to do the scavenger hunt for our settling week. Unfortunately due to lockdown our child led inquiry plan has not come to the fruition we'd hoped for alongside this kit activity”

How has this kit influenced your confidence in STEM teaching and learning? No. I totally didn't understand the planning of this kit so it felt like my teaching wasn't as strategic/deliberate as it could have been . . .
“Unfortunately we haven't yet completed our Jean Batten work due to covid but the tamariki were loving the context and were super engaged with their learning. As a teacher I did find the change in planning format difficult to follow and piece together and didn't feel like the 'flow' was as clear as in previous kits that I had completed.”
