“What an amazing resource! My class loved the hands on activities, especially the buzz planes and paper planes. They also enjoyed deciphering the morse code. All the activities made learning about Jean Batten a very fun experience. The girls loved the badges to wear as blazer bling when they completed the challenge.”
“This is a fantastic kit. My students and I enjoyed it from the beginning to end and added in other things along the way. Jean has become an inspiration to our class - as a leader and explorer and a person we can admire. She was our inspiration for our wearable arts tasks as well as topic for reading and writing. Students were engaged, worked hard to problem solve and it was incredible to see them working together in their teams to complete their challenges - they were definitely better code crackers than their teacher! It was impressive watching students use a range of skills to solve the morse code puzzles, and to communicate with their opposing teams in order to complete the challenges. They want to know when we can play the Mayday game again. The only thing that would have been helpful were spare components for the Buzz Planes (stripping back the wires was a bit challenging for some), or to know where we could purchase extras. Overall, this kit was outstanding and I can't wait to do it again in a couple of years time with a new cohort of students.”

We spent 2 full days on the various activities which was a fabulous introduction to our unit on Endeavour and Achievement.
