“This was such and incredible and enriching activity. The children were really engaged and this sparked more interest in codes, escape rooms and famous NZ women. After we finished the kit we made our own escape room and we looked at diverse NZ woman throughout history!”
“This was an interesting kit with heaps to engage students and lots of hands-on activities (once we got going). There was a great variety of tasks, and it was easy to differentiate the challenges for all students.
The kit needed quite a lot of 'unpacking' of Jean Batten's life and achievements alongside. Batten's life and achievements didn't immediately engage the students, so I had to work quite hard to hook them in.”

“What an amazing amount of thought has gone into this kit - it was so good at engaging and keeping kids interested. They particularly liked the buzz planes. As a teacher I loved the map - the students referred back to it again and again and I think it really helped them to gain a sense of the vast distances Jean travelled. We looked at Jean Batten as part of a study of famous people - we looked at the problems they faced along the way (which Jean had many!) and how they overcame the problems.
