In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Measuring growth with non standard measurements. Increasing biodiversity in the playground. Health. Oral language, reading and writing.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? NNext year we will be furthering our understanding of how plants contribute to the biodiversity in our environment at school and locally in our area.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have not had any growth form our plants yet, but they have learnt to name many new vegetables. We receive fruit/vegies in school and they have made connections between what they are growing and what we have received.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? There was a lot of oral language and it gave us opportunities to also read about different cultural dishes that the children eat.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The children are really excited about our new rebuild and planning gardens to plant healthy seedlings in, in the future.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It was great to hear the students discuss lunchbox contents and healthy eating in general.

“The kids loved every stage of this kit from learning about the Little Garden League to growing and code-breaking. We planted them a little late, but the children loved being in charge of caring for the seedlings. Due to planting late, we purchased different fruits to try, which we ate mindfully and read about and discussed .”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Children are still proud of our gardens. We have been harvesting the food lately!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children wanted to try new veges as they had been growing them. It gave kids an appreciation of how long veges take to grow and why we should not waste them

Growing plants and looking at how plants grow is part of science. We wrote about our plants, what we did and what plants nee

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children were pretty on to it in distunguishing between fruits and vegetables. Many get fruit and cut up veges in their lunches, but the kit introduced to them to some new veges.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Wind direction to provide shelter for growing plants, grow more trees for birds, grow lots of flowers for pollination of our veges.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The kit provided opportunities for lots of discussion about likes/dislikes which gave some the idea to try new fruits/veges. We had lots of chat when looking at lunchboxes and discussing the healthy options.
