In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We looked at different parts, drew the parts and labeled our work. The children even looked at the water cycle.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are still using our garden and they are still talking about the plant we are growing.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children had different things to look at the plants and I bought in different things form my garden at home to show the children what the plants look like when grown.
My class had fun growing and watering our little gardens and we managed to get them into our school garden. I loved having some fun resources and sites to use with the teaching for the class.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We were able to research how the vegetables helped us to stay healthy.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? SStudents were able to share with their parents how they had planted seedlings and some made their own vegetable gardens at home to look after.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? TThey were able to have a better understanding of why vegetables are essential to have in our diet everyday.
My students were very excited to become part of the club. They were engaged with learning how to plant their seedlings and how to look after them too.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Rich oral language were using while discussing all the different veggies. The children loved the names of the veggies. Measuring the growth of the plants was great.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Taking care of a plant is a commitment and takes time and lots of patience.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about healthy food choices and how to try new food. We decided that we had to try a new fruit or veggie before we can say we don't like it.
Good, easy to set up and look after.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This kit allowed our learners to make links across the curriculum and they shared their learning with their whānau at home.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Whānau begain encouraging their children to get involved in their garden at home.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This aligned with the Life Education learning and helped to promote 'eating a rainbow'
This was a fantastic resource to promote hands-on learning opportunities. This suited our learner's interests. They were highly engaged and motivated.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Written language was relevant and related to topic e.g. describing different vegetables, instructions for planting their little garden, recording results etc. Mathematics e.g. talking about costs of vegetables, measuring growth etc Physical Education- o
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Research into other plants that could be planted e.g. potatoes. Class cooking activities using the fully grown plants from the school gardens. Visiting new just opened garden center in Te Aroha with related learning.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children trialed different vegetables and many found that some they had not eaten before tasted nice. Parent feedback was very positive. Classroom lunches appear to have less packet food and more fresh fruit particularly with our Tongan families.
The children got very involved and have already eaten the radishes. It was an excellent unit. All the staff got involved and purchased New World groceries to get more Little Gardens. Several teachers with their own children started gardens at home to help encourage their own children to eat more vegetables.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Science, literacy, health.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are currently still working through the kit. However, we would like to use the vegetables grown to make our own soup and learn about following recipes. A next step could be to educate our community to about healthy eating and gardening.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We used this kit as a way to promote students to try new foods and develop their understanding of the gardening process.
My students were so excited to hear about the Little Garden League and were all very eager to prove themselves worthy. We had a wonderful time learning about nutrition through planting.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We integrated it into literacy, languages, health, math and the arts.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This kit will be a big part of our ongoing garden focus, integrating all learning areas into term one.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Learning to live sustainably by growing their own vegetables has had a huge impact on many students, taking the knowledge home with them.
The students LOVED this kit and it tied in really well with our term focus on gardening.

Students loved the hook into the project. The online songs and you tube clips were great. Students engaged getting in the swing of it and planting out into our garden.
