What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are currently still working through the kit. However, we would like to use the vegetables grown to make our own soup and learn about following recipes. A next step could be to educate our community to about healthy eating and gardening.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We used this kit as a way to promote students to try new foods and develop their understanding of the gardening process.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This became our inquiry unit for the term, so we connected it to all our literacy activities and used a lot of maths, especially measurement by growing a variety of different plants. We connected it to technology by creating videos and seesaw content. In

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This unit developed into lots of learning about looking after the environment and the insects that help look after plants. We created bug motels that are now part of our school.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Kids now know a lot more about eating healthy and the iportance of a balanced diet that includes a lot of vegetables. Kids are very keen to grow their own vegetables, and as a result of this kit we have created a new junior vegetable garden.

“This was such a fantastic kit!! The kids loved all the hands on activities and we used it as a jumping off point for a whole inquiry on plants and bugs. THe kids loved the secret codes and being able to take their pplants home.”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Children were able to plant them in the garden outside at school and watch them grow.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Rich oral language were using while discussing all the different veggies. The children loved the names of the veggies. Measuring the growth of the plants was great.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Taking care of a plant is a commitment and takes time and lots of patience.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about healthy food choices and how to try new food. We decided that we had to try a new fruit or veggie before we can say we don't like it.
