What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Plenty came of it. As stated above we were able to teach things such a behaviour when around a garden, responsibilities when caring for a garden and also different methods of creating a garden.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Science, math, literacy, KCs.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have planted some of our seedlings in the school veggie garden so are continuing to nurture them and watch them grow. We are looking forward to letting some go to seed so we can continue to learn about life cycles.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? With parental support we tried a few recipes with veggies which most kids enjoyed tasting.

“What an amazing kit. My class absolutely loved the opportunity to plant and watch their seeds grow, it was a joy to watch! . Through this learning we explored life-cycles of different plants as well as the conditions needed to sustain life. There was also great opportunities for math, writing and cooperation. As we ended up with extra seed packs due to a small class and extras from a parent the students were able to plant one of their seedlings at school in our garden and take one home.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The texts and suggested books were really helpful. It also allowed us to learn about measurement through watering our plants. Science was a great link too.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We ended up learning about 'looking after ourselves' as a follow on from learning bout nutrition. Thsi has taken us to the end of the year. Students are loving it!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students were more than willing to give new vegetables and fruit a go. The feedback from parents regarding this was great! We tied this into the Garden to Table programme and our life education visit.

“Thsi kit was really engaging from the get go. My year 2/3 class loved cracking the codes and the hands on experience planting. It led to many other great lessons on nutrition, looking after ourselves, sustianability and the science behind growing. I would 100% reccomend this kit to a similar age group. “This was an awesome kit that engaged all the students. Lots of learning was happening and their knowledge of naming plants increased. Their understanding of taking care of plants was taken on board and they transferred their knowledge back to their homes.”

The children also loved using the 'Little shop' that camas part of the kit. They created menus and also price lists - such

The kit has made the children more aware of the process of how vegetables are grown and also how to care for the plants from seed to table. The children were more willing to try a vegetable or herb that they had hadn't eaten before.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This linked really well with out Garden to Table program. We were able to plant some of our seeds in our school garden and watch them grow. Some have even been harvested!

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have lots of interest in continuing our school vegetable garden. The children are writing a pitch to our principal about having a class plot to take care of.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has helped grow knowledge and understanding around different plants, and the ongoing commitment to take care of living things. We have had lots of feedback from whānau around how these plants are going at home, and children trying new vegetables.

We really liked the range of learning, from code cracking, to learning filled videos. The kit provided fantastic learning that has continued long after the timeframe.”
