In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? I believe that the plants will help to link in maths when we go measure them. But we haven’t entered our measurement unit yet.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As our inquiry topic this term was healthy body, healthy mind it linked in greatly in our class and school and the students would continue wanting to check on the plants and water them.
The little Garden League that my class received was warmly welcomed by my students. They absolutely loved the code cracking puzzles and enjoyed watching their plants grown in the room. The resource has been used throughout the school and it’s a great way to check in with students around the school.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? In writing we wrote diary entries describing what we could see happening with the class. We also used our plants in maths by using blocks to see how tall they were and compare heights.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Now that the children are have been introduced to the growing process, we might move into a more in-depth science unit about how plants and trees grow.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I bought all the different vegetables to school, and all of the kids tried all of them - even if they didn't like them. Having such a fun school kit really encouraged them to be brave and give everything a go.
This was such a great school kit. Lots of kids in my class had never done any gardening before and they loved being involved in the whole process.

My class we very excited to crack the codes and plant the seeds. We have Garden to Table at our school which I felt gave us an advantage because they already knew a lot about gardening. The school holidays are a little concerning because we will have to decide if the seedlings stay at school or go home. Many of my students have started their own little gardens

The tamariki enjoyed being apart of a ";garden club";. They thoroughly enjoyed handling the seedlings. The badges and the pledges were a real hoot. Room 9 and 10 adored the story about the Founding members of the LGL. The children were excited to get the codes sent through to them. It made them feel very important.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This linked in really well to the Inquiry learning we're currently doing about 'Movement'. We learned how plants/seeds move and grow. We also linked in Maori/English to the vegetable names. For writing/science we wrote about the lifecycle of a seed and dr
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? All of the above. We will continue with this next term too. Thank you for a great opportunity for our tamariki!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children enjoyed learning about the different vegetable names. Some of them couldn't recognise the plants and match them to a name prior to this, so that was helpful for learning these through playing the games. It was also great to hear the children
My Year 3 class were so excited to discover that they could be part of this special 'Little Garden League'. They enjoyed completing application notes and cracking the codes. Before we planted the seeds we learnt all about how plants grow and what they need so that we could be super gardeners. They really enjoyed playing the 'Vege patch match' card game. We had a great afternoon planting the seeds together. We are now excitedly watching the plants germinate and grow tall and strong. Our class will be taking the plants home over the holidays to nurture them to maturity.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? A number of my children didn't now difference between veg and fruit or where or how they grew. 1. Loved the kit. 2. Found the letter box really hard to cut and assemble- nearly snipped my skirt! However, my class of 5 year sold were so excited about 'posting ' their letter s to Mr New World. 3. Nearly pulled my eyes out folding the envelope, but taught resilience! So grateful for the video with the steps. 4. Have repurposed the letter box! Great for letters to grandparents, ";I wonder...";questions .... 5. So comprehensive. The secret codes were fabulous and everybody had buy in- we felt pretty special like FBI agents when we discovered the code and explained it to our buddy class -who are in year 6! Everything was in there. So appreciated having a few extra pots , as we had over zealous waterers who disintegrated the first pots. 6. Children were stoked that they got these before than came out in shops and had several families buying extra groceries so they could growing more.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Inquiry - discussed plant life cycle ... we also looked and discussed other ways to grow plants besides from seed; what plants require to grow Language: provided new vocab for children; especially ESOL in the class
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will look at the reasons some might not have grown - link it to our cause and effect theme in Inquiry.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We had some good discussions but the children (well the age I teach) are guided by their parents choices to some degree. But still important to create awareness and provide them with the facts.
The kids love them! Some of the activities were great - the links and videos all in one place was great and easy to assess. Lots of variety.
