In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? especially with herbs and a few different veges, even have them trying something different
very hands on tactile for the students, wonderful the extra activities in the kit, would have liked some more codes as students really got into this , yea we did create our own. the holidays interrupted watching the growing so we pricked the seedlings out and kept some of each variety for school, rest went home to who ever sewed them. Have cress men to make next term to follow on

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will continue to try to grow our own vegetable garden in our outdoor area
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has worked well as we were in the middle of a topic on Farm to Table where we had been looking at where our food comes from. Because the plants were so quick to grow the children were able to see results quickly and see how easy it is to grow our own f
Overall the little garden kit was great, the badges and introduction with the letterbox worked really well to pull the kids in and get them interested. They loved getting a plant each to plant, water and take care of and support the learning that we had already been doing in class. The other activities were all a bit tricky for my 5 year olds, so next time I would love to see some 'easier' options for the secret codes and also the cardboard labels for each plant don't last when they are getting watered. Otherwise - such an awesome initiative that I would love to continue doing on a yearly basis with my class.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Great links to literacy and science. Art. Health and recreation - gardening as a hobby.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Adding the plants to our school garden. Home/school links - positive feedback from parents.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students have a greater awareness of the different vegetables and plants that they can eat. Many of the students had no experience of a number of the plants in the little garden. I brought samples (e.g watercress, chives, borage, mint) for them to try. I
My class enjoyed the build up to the planting and becoming members of the little garden club.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used it across many areas of learning! Reading, writing, environmental education/science etc. I also used it with my Enviro group.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The life cycle of plants, environmental concepts.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The initial discussion and videos at the start were great, but they kind of lost the awareness of the healthy eating aspect as the weeks went on. The code crackers were a good little reminder but potentially not that much. They still loved it though!
My class were absolutely enthralled by the kit! We were amazed by the amount of resources we got in the kit. Two other Homebases (classes) also ordered the kit after seeing mine, and we had some awesome learning that came from the kit. It was so fantastic. 'I liked the Little Garden League Characters. I also liked the code code crackers'. Hazel, 7 years.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Our Rich Topic next term is on food which links perfectly (we also did a unit in Term 1 'Let it Grow') so the Little Garden League kit came at the perfect time for us.

Our children have LOVED becoming members of the Little Garden League - this kit has been a complete success! We especially loved the codes - children have really enjoyed receiving these each week, cracking the code and writing coded messages to each other - children have even created their own codes during their play which has been amazing to see.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? As it was an integrated kit we used as a stand alone which we could encourage the use across the curriculum. I used this as a complete topic and was able to ensure the students were kept motivated for the duration. I used in writing, topic, maths and sing
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Measurement of the plants, science- photosynthesis, labeling, natural world. Cooking the veges grown. Create a menu.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The discussion around growing their own food led to making connection with their own world. ZThey were also able to explore about different types of food them and their family could try. The links were excellent insupporting this.
The students got really excited by the secret club. They liked having the badges and getting the plants. The background info was good but maybe you could make profile cards with the main points of the character. As teachers we had to modify and sell the club. The application was a good idea but was harder for pre readers. As class size is more than 20 could be a mission. I liked the idea of the letterbox. The class enjoyed getting an envelope back the next day wit their badge and key. The messages that came out were very long. With pre readers even with scaffolding was quite difficult. Messages could be shorter? If you had extra funds maybe you could create a one pace cartoon with the needed info about previous members.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children are keen to show off the vegetables they are eating and have been open to trying new vegetables they hadn't eaten before.
Fantastic kit! Kids are engaged and keen to learn more. Exciting characters make them eager to try them.
