In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We were able to read and resource facts about how seeds grow and what plants need to sustain life. They were able to do maths problems related to planting vegetable patches. They were able to write about the planting they did and describe their seedlings.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Learning about sustainable crops and responsible farming. Looking at how they can develop vege gardens at home.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are more aware of different vegetables available and excited about trying them as they are big enough to harvest. They see vegetables as a much healthier and sustainable food source to pack food.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Kids are sending the seeds home for the holidays - no future learning as many of the seeds did not shot.

“Was excited when it came and when I set I thought up BUT...... Story was a bit boring and didn’t grab the kids attention Seeds were messy to plant (as an independent job for 5 year olds) Seed pots broke down each day as the kids watered them leaving he soil spilling out. SO sadly, over all feel a bit ho hum about it ! :slightly_frowning:”

We took the theme of plants through writing, science, maths and even looked at videos about tests that have proven that plants respond to positive words. We are currently trialling this by speaking nicely to our plants each day! So much wider learning fro

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The children want to keep tabs on whose little garden selection has thrived at home. I have asked the children to add to our classdojo page over the holidays any progress reports!

“What an absolutely well thought out and exciting kit. My class loved the secrecy involved and the ceremony of getting their badges and reciting the oath. They have loved the planting process and watching their seedlings grow. Some of them have already outgrown their pots and have been re-homed to their new growing homes that are more spacious (we did a bit of research on what we should use to ensure they got enough sunlight.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? gave them opportunities to write due to them writing a letter to be involved in the league. mathematics (measurement) by comparing growth and duration of time, science the life cycle of a plant.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? the children explore more into what animals need plants to survive and wrote information reports on the different plants.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? it has helped their awareness as they are aware of more vegetables and how they grow. Due to them being apart of the process they were more willing to try new vegetables.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? It will fit with our maths - measurement - how long it will take to grow and how tall. Inquiry - growing - well being.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are willing to try growing vegetables that have not seen before but not sure if they will eat them yet as its not fully grown yet.
