The kids really enjoyed planting the seeds and watching them grow. They took them home when they reached a certain height and planted them in their garden.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It did help with some of the students identifying what is the veg etc are and supported them in looking out for foods like that when they are at home or go to the supermarket.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Great - they loved seeing the seeds/sprouts etc and then seeing the grown product like what they would see in the supermarket or green grocer.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? They have taken this knowledge home and have started their own gardens

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? science, animals, fitness
We love the little gardens. It helps support students in their knowledge building around how seeds grow into plants and then plants into vegetables or other edibles. We enjoyed watching when we add water to the soil tablets they then make rich soil for our seeds.

My class and I lived using the little garden league resources. The children found the interactive learning engaging and I found it easy to follow and implement.

The children loved this kit especially receiving and planting their own seed. One student planted a second seed of pumpkin and has just sent her photo+'s from home through with 4 large pumpkin. This occured from her interest of little gardens and has car5ried over to her home

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We did some work around Greedy Cat and how we needed to have balanced diets etc, students were excited to showcase their healthy foods items in their lunchboxes with a small treat from balance.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? My students were a bit young to notice any differences in the growing stage but could identify most fully grown vegetables
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Students who made their own lunches made conscious efforts to include healthier foods.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to link this to our inquiry unit on how the world works, involving learning about life cycles so it was a perfect kit to have while doing that unit.
Little Garden League was a wonderful school kit! The students were so engaged and eager to learn. It was awesome that they received pins/badges as well

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I think our kids were pretty good already.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Garden to Table programme

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Science/ Health and PE/Literacy
We used this in conjunction with trying to get our garden to table programme up and going. It had some nice activities in it, but I'm not sure it really reached our learning goals.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? A bake off...using vegetables in baking.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Science - what plants need to grow. Math - observing growth over time.
The students always love a hand on task. They loved having the little station set up in class and were rapt once the growth go to a point where they could take the plants home to share. We proudly had 100% success rate in plant growth.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They were proud to share their fruit and vegetable components of their lunches and tried to remember their dinners to share too.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was great as the resources supported this so beautifully. Parents reported a real interest in their fruit and veg shopping at supermarkets.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Soooo many. Science, maths, English, health at the forefront.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It lent itself to all sets of the nz curriculum and integrated with fun,,ease and implementation.
The little garden league was an amazing acquisition to our class. It provided knowledge, vocabulary, observation and caring skills on every level. Not to mention joy and excitement amongst all.
