The Little Garden plants work well for our children. The children filled in their applications to join the little garden league but the badges etc were never received. We were originally told they were in transit but delayed due to shipping issues then we heard no more about them. The support for what to do e.g. with the secret messages was hard to follow after the first one which we did as a class. The children were disappointed that the badges never arrived and we lost momentum although we did plant the vegetables and some new vegetables were tasted.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? sciencem - plant growth, social studies - economy, maths - statistics,
We explored the kit and found that 1/4 of our studio didn't really know what some of the vegetables were. Because of this I was able to plan to their needs by buying the vegetables that we were going to explore. We looked, listened, touched, tasted and smelled the vegetables. We planted and wrote about how the plants were doing. We had some bad weather so we decided to grow them indoors in a make shift garden. We were curious about the size of the seeds and its ability to become a vegetable.

I am so thankful to the Little Garden League. It was such a great Term 4 topic and my class absolutely loved it. Term 4 can be a really stressful term - but using Little Garden League made my term far less stressful. Thank you!

The Little Garden League is a fabulous resource that the ākonga really get in behind. They love being part of a club and making things their own. There is a lot of ownership of caring for the plants and the aftercare is superb.

Thank you for all the Little garden plants. My NE class had a lot of fun planting them in our garden beside our playground and took great pride in looking after them while they grew. It was great to hear them explaining to other children what they had done and wha tthe plants were:)
