Children thoroughly enjoyed learning about their plant and watching as it grew each day. The whole learning activity and experience was a real winner.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We used the kit to research and identify their seeds/seedling/plant as a cycle that they then shared with the rest of the class. They had to find a recipe that used there vegetable/herb as the main ingredient and convince others to try it.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It improved the knowledge of the class immensely as they worked with the Garden Club to grow there plant from a seedling to a productive vegetable/herb. They took photos and created labels that were used as a game. Memory, snap and just matching the pictu
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? A passion for growing their own vegetables and herbs. Some have started a small garden at home with their whanau.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? They wrote using a variety of genre as well as presentations, oral language, maths (measurement, volume), science, reading, computer literacy. It really covered all the areas of learning.
This resource was even better than the previous years. We used our kit to work with the Garden Club at our school. The quality of the resource and the support available to use alongside the learning was at the right level for my year 3s.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? A great talking point around vegetables and which grow above and which grow below the grond.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are going to be planting daffodils this term. As our school is currently expanding and we have lots of construction happening, we can't plant a School vege garden yet but something we are keen to do in the future.

This was a great way to encourage green fingers in students. They LOVED the badges they got and the fact they could be in charge of growing their own plants.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We kept a measuring log on the growth of each plant.
The little garden resource pack was a wonderful asset to our adventure unit 'Art for Arts Sake'. Students had the opportunity to plant and grow their own seeds and transfer them to clay pots that they made for art.

Our kids absolutely loved watching our little plants grow. To be honest we lost the name tags of some so this was a learning curve in itself - Make more sturdier labelling. Great learning for all.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Tamariki were interested in trying the different vege and herbs in the pack. This promoted conversations around healthy choices that we could not have had if it wasnt for this kit
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They gained an understanding of vege growing - still difficult but they had a great awareness

This is a great resource kit for our tamariki. It teaches them about the process of planting and how to care for something to help it grow. The tamariki loved caring for their plant and taking it home to re-plant and it encouraged whānau to plant at home.
