Growing their own vegetables from seeds to harvesting and preparing them for the table helped to improve students awareness of healthy eating. Although it took some convincing for some students to try vegetables they did not like.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables?
Students were able to identify the vegetables when the labels were up but they still needed to work on being able to identify the vegetables instantly. Some students talked about recognising the "silverbeet" at the supermarket.
