In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I didn't really realise this was the point of the kit so we didn't focus on this at all. I found this kit really confusing to follow.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? not a lot as I have 5 year olds and we just focsued on planting and watching the growth
I found all the information super cofussing and overwhelming. I thought, and was told, my kit was arriving for term 3 and it arrived half way through which mucked up all the planning I had done for and with this kit, I then had to change it all and only ended up touching the surface of the learning. I was getting email from you saying I needed to sign up to the app before you would send me the kit, I explained I had and received a reply email saying, we will send it tomorrow, no apology or explanation of if I was actually signed up correctly. This caused me to furiously waste time scanning over the website and app to see if there was a step I had missed ..... I gave up, and to this day still don't know if I'm signed up correctly. However our class enjoyed receiving the seedling and planting them and watching them grow! so thank you for that. They came in each day to observe the growth. with this being my first time using school Kit I found it really confusing and not super easy to keep up with all the email etc but i enjoyed using the resource and following my own direction. I dont really know why we were made to sign up to the app?

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The vegetable match game was a favourite in our class. Students have learnt names of unfamiliar vegetables and are able to retain their learning through the game. They have also become curious about some vegetables that they have never tried.
The Little Garden kit has been a great learning experience for my year 2 class. Students have learnt about new and unfamiliar vegetables, and how to grow and look after them. The students were enthusiastic about being members of the league and looking after their vegetables. They especially enjoyed playing the vegetable match game with one another. They were proud of being initiated into the league and getting badges to represent their membership. The lessons and online information were easy to follow and access. My only criticism with the kit would be the building of the clubhouse letterbox as it is hard to construct and can sometimes not sit together well.

Our Inquiry this term has been 'Celebrating Our Whenua'. We have begun our exploration into our Little Gardens from our discoveries about seeds - different types of seeds, what's the job of a seed and how seeds germinate. Receiving our kit later, meant we can set ourselves up for planting our Little Garden to germinate over the holidays. Ready for us to discover and transplant into our own school's vegetable garden in term 4 week 1. We are very excited to be part of the Little Garden League...and will keep you posted!
