In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Growing vegetables and eating them with their peers alway makes them more open to trying new things even if it's just a bite. Discussions about 5 plus a day etc and healthy bodies and what we need that often gets missed out in a busy curriculum.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful kit. The children have LOVED making up the seedling kits and watching these grow. The extra resources have been wonderful too. As I have done this with a New Entrant class, the code cracking/envelopes were not able to be done independently. Thanks again.

The little Garden kit was awesome! My class were excited from the moment it arrived and were keen to get going as soon as possible. They were all asking questions about who would have which pot and sparked many conversations about favourite vegetables and who grew veggies at home. They have taken great care in looking after, watering and watching their pots as they have grown and were so pleased to transplant them into bigger pots. Overall..a really engaging kit.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I'm sure as the plants continue to grow, we will get some genuine understanding of what vegetables look like and how they grow.
We have thoroughly enjoyed using the resources you have kindly donated to us to explore plant systems in my play-based year 1 classroom. We have made a role-play cafe, made models of plants with up cycled materials, looked at how insects, humans and plants work together in a system in our science, used literature to promote reading and writing around the topic, measured and compared growth in our maths, and have made a beautiful garden out of pallets to house our growing garden and observational artwork has been blossoming almost as much as the plants themselves! Ngā mini Nui!
