In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has helped a lot in raising aware ness of nutrition and healthy eating. They also gave some cabbages to those that couldn't afford, silver beet/ greens were given to the families that contacted St Vinceint de Paul and our family worker was involved w

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was great having the stickers and the labels clearly. They saw how they grew differently in the foliage stage and how hey developed differently also.

“Little gardens from the school kit helped us to recognise the importance of being sustainable in our local school environment. We grew the seedlings in our school garden and learned how water, good soil and constant weeding helped to grow a fruitful harvest.”

“This was great, children all created a passport of their vegetable. They took them home at the end of the term and contributed to care for their plant. Some children continued to collect from new world and created their own Vege patches at home. They shared their progress with visual diaries of photos. Extension to their learning and collaboration with their whanau.”
