The tamariki loved learning about all of the veges and characters.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? About time from maths and science being the plantation of plants, from a seed to a plant that you can eat.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This I am not sure as I am not sure what their eating habits are like at home.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was okay as I had a very young class some of them recognised most of the vegetables but unfortunately not all of them.
The kids enjoyed being able to take part in planting their own send and seeing how it slowly started to develop into a plant, well some of them anyway. I think this is great and for all students of which will teach them how plants grow and where food from the garden comes from, and how easy it can be to grow your own.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They were able to monitor a plants life from a seed to a vegetable.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Some of my students were able to identify veges prior to this kit as we had been visiting our maara kai. My students were able to look, touch and taste the produce from the maara kai itself.
My class really enjoyed this kit. It helps us bridge the classroom learning with our local community maara kai that we visit and look after.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They only chose vegetables that they knew
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Some vegetables were new to them and they didn't know what they were choosing
The children enjoyed looking after the seedlings. It was the process of planting the seeds that intrigued them. It was great seeing how fast they grew and we measured the time it took for the seeds to sprout. Also learnt the type of vegetables they ate and and finding out about herbs.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Many didn't know the names of the vegetables and after doing this they did!
Children loved making their little gardens. They all grew well too!

This was an awesome kit - the students ended up with an amazing plethora of vegetables for eating. It's amazing what they eat when they grow it themselves.

Tumeke! My Junior Class enjoyed growing their plants. This was great for Oral Language and integrating learning.
