What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The card game is awesome as part of math - memory, pattern etc. Research writing on their selected plant is also a great way to engage for writing and reading :). And the planting for sustainability and gardening and healthy eating :)

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This kit worked well with our topic on seeds and plants, enabling to children to have hands on experiences growing vegetables from seed.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? With busy learning to teach BSLA and then testing and reports it was hard to try and fit it all in. I know that I could have spent more time on students labeling plants and writing about their plants and growth.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I think students were able to see how easy it was do plant something that they could then eat.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Due to time we didn't do very well in this part of the learning.
Students loved getting their little pot ready. They enjoyed watching them grow. Some were more interested that others.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Healthy eating and growing your own food are becoming an important studies in schools. The interactive way the kit brings a physical element is wonderful
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Very high, children spoke of the vegetables they were growing at home and eating. Highly engaging as many different ethnicity were able to contribute what the family ate as vegetables at their home.
Loved the little gardens and the teaching ideas.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This was a great opportunity to incorporate STEM activities where we ran different experiments on. the needs of plants and best environments for them.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? By raising awareness of different vegetables and being able to taste different vegetables it has increased the amount of healthy foods which they can incorporate into their diet.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Hugely impacted. It was surprising to see just how little the children knew about different vegetables
We found this kit to be one of the best for our tamariki. They loved the idea of being part of a secret society and next time I would like to put more effort into using different staff members to contribute to the "club" It was really interesting to see how little some of the children knew about different vegetables and how, when around their peers they were willing to give new vegetables a try which was very out of character for some.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children enjoyed eating their own food and using the food to create healthy food choices. The children informed their families and this enabled the children's lunches to be altered to create healthy food choices.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children could plant, observe and eat the food they grew. They were involved throughout the process and could inform others about their plant growth.
This was a fantastic kit for a year 4 class. The children were engaged and enthusiastic throughout the whole process.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children became more aware of different vegetables and how they could use it to cook.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Very much so! Some children did not know the names of different vegetables as they have different names in their culture and language so it was a good opportunity to explore this too.
The Kit was amazing, the kids absolutely loved the chance to care for their own seed and learn about how seeds grow. It linked beautifully with our school values and we were able to integrate it into our unit of persuasive writing where the children had to persuade the seed character to pick them as their gardener! Lot's of fun was had.
