The little garden league was fantastic as it was hands on and the children got to watch their plant’s growing. It was easy to plot progress and gave the children an understanding of plant care and how to nurture plants. Our herbs grew well and some of the vegetables grew better than others.

I enjoyed using this kit with my Year 0 class. It created discussion around the food that we eat and where it comes from. It was a great way to build relationships within the class. In order to have an impact on their daily nutrition, I needed to involve parents/caregivers in this process.

The resources were bright and colourful and the children enjoyed playing the vegetable game.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Science, kitchen science, literacy, art. So many opportunities for cross curricular learning.
Our class loved the chance to grow their veggies! We used this to support our literacy and science learning. It is such an encompassing unit of work that we were able to link to so many different areas of the curriculum. It also helped the children to connect to their local area. Our school-wide theme was connections and growing the veggies led us into an inquiry cycle that looked at how growing our food helped our community. This is the second time I have had this kit and it never disappoints!
