In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children connected to this kit and we also talked about Life Education as we had this at school at the same time.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Not entirely. The children in my class identified the more common vegetables, but struggled with the others.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Talking about healthy eating. Connecting with growing other items.

I love the box with everything in it. The children that used this were very engaged with the lessons and the games that were provided. Love this kit!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We ended up getting really deep into the science elements of colour and the water cycle.
The students loved learning about the vegetables and took great delight planting them in the school garden and watching them grow.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Science, language (writing), Maths (measuring plant size, graphing)
I used the little garden league with my year 3/4 students during hub time. They absolutely loved it and were super engaged. They especially enjoyed planting and gave in to the secret club idea. During hub time, the students tried carrots. Many students had never eaten a carrot befoe.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students are able to name the different vegetables and some dishes that can be made using the ingredients to eat healthy.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was fun and engaging for the students. They loved the quirky characters.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Students have shared with their family ideas on what they could possibly make for dinner. They are brave to try new vegetables.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We focused more on the process of growing and the benefits of gardening on mental health but they could talk about how the only things we were planting were vegetables. I think this has given them ideas of how to eat different vegetables and recognise one
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Successful. When we harvested they could refer back to the labels and identify all the vegetables.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Designing, budgeting and building a planter box.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Technology, science, Health and PE.
I loved the concept of the secret club and kids being invited to the club. The group we had last year were really unmotivated to write and this intrigued them but I think my execution of this wasn't great! We had an awesome time planting the little gardens and there was a great range of plants. I think if possible something that could have been added was a set of greater-volume pots so we could plant the seedlings out!
