“Students have very much enjoyed the kit. There is so much learning behind each pepeha starting with the detective work of NZ geography, Te Reo and iwi. Then going through each story and connected the photos and artefacts and piecing it all together with a person or event.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? As someone who has settled in New Zealand from overseas, learning about NZ history presents some challenges. Having this kit has given me confidence and taught me so much too. It has been wonderful to learn alongside my students.

“I have begun to use this kit in my year 7 classroom, we are only part of the way through exploring it's content as there is so much to learn and explore. I will be continuing in term 3. The students love that it is like a puzzle and that the stories are connected, we are yet to link everything up but the excitement to find out is high in the classroom.”

“The kit was super exciting to open. Full of goodies - that felt like real treasures! The children were so motivated to find out how it all fitted together. Giving a photo as an intro and then allowing the children to discover more, allowed children to predict and then discover - lots of thinking as they worked through the process of the kit. So much better than feeding them full of information but allowing them to discover it for themselves.”
