What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? It was great however you need to be mindful that the stories are being told for younger children. Short and choppy with great speakers they can relate to.

“Very complex. The website was way over the top of the heads of year 4. I found the links were broken a lot of the time. You need to put whole days aside to navigate how to use the website. Beautiful resources with lots of research done.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The website in particular provides a rich easily accessible resource to provide a range of contexts for all the curriculum expectations.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We are fortunate in the Waikato to have a range of local history content. The Ngati Wairere site ngaapuna.org is one example. In terms of the kit, the resource about the Featherston massacre motivated me personally to research a bit further into historica

“An excellent collection of tangible items to spark interest in Aotearoa NZ History. Things like the Suzanne Aubert medicine formed links to other areas such as rongoā as well. The 'Something Happened Here' site is an excellent online resource too. For us in Kirikiriroa Hamilton, local histories such as the 1981 tour are covered in depth and provide rich connections to places close by. I had a student who was captivated by the Polynesian Panther resource. Many histories to explore and big mihi to all the kaimahi who put it together.”
