“Full of information and supporting resources for teachers. It was a great new look at the Aotearoa History Curriculum and the loaded amount of historical events that occurred in places we never looked at before. The kit provided a way for students to begin their own research and understand about the history that we have In Aotearoa, some even connected it to their own history or they would explore cities that they’ve been to or have some connection to. It was a great first time experience even though I was a bit confused with some things, I was able to get the how to on the website which was a great help.”

“So many resources!! So much freedom to work through as and when needed. This sparked a challenge for us to create our own stories about a place significant to us and I'm looking forward to taking it further next year. “Thank you for such a valuable resource. All students were hooked in with the treasures that were in our resource box, creating lots of questions and wonderings. Due to time restrictions we did not use the resource the best as we could but this is now timetabled for Term 1, 2023. . Looking forward to using better next year. Ngā mihi nui.”

“I had my students (Year 7/8) pair up and choose their own pathway. The students were always engaged and on task whenever they did Aotearoa New Zealand Histories. As they weren't paired with similar abilities some found the stories quite hard to understand and others felt they jumped around a bit. Next time I may change the pairings and structure the readings as per instructions easy /medium/hard readings. I have shown other teachers this site and will pass on this site to our Aotearoa NZ Histories teacher if that is okay.”
