How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I would love to use some of our local stories, artefacts and places. This could be something our Kahui Ako could explore through our Aotearoa Histories working group.

“What a wonderful opportunity to explore many facets of NZ History. The tactile hands on resources were superb - the quality of them provoked a lot of talk and curiosity in my classroom. My own family (including my elderly parents) were so interested too. We could have spent all year exploring this kit. I plan revisit this kit and keep using it in my Aotearoa Histories teaching.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? i feel so much more confident to deliver the Aotearoa NZ Histories again next year after a really successful year. Many kids wrote that it was a highlight for them in their report.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It provided the resources and the how to deliver them ideas. As well I was able to adapt them to how I could use them differently.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We were able to use the pictures and research how the local area has changed over time. I would definitely use this model again as you were able to adapt it to suit and curriculum areas.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? This has helped me grow my confidence as it gave me a starting point and where to take my lessons. Many inquiry topics are so big that it is daunting trying to a find a place to start at.
