“I so value this resource. Unfortunately, I was not able to use it in my lessons as YET!! Due to unforseen circumstances in term 4, meant that I lost the time to be able to incorporate it. However, I will most certainly be implementing this into my Aotearoa Studies for 2023. The content within this kit is so relevant for our rohe, such as the Māwhera Claim and Nōti Raureka. I can't wait to teach with this next year. Ngā mihi nui Annie”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Absolutely! The fact that we accidentally started with a post card that is from our local area really showed me how I could potentially deliver future learning of our surrounds.

“Have only explored 1 postcard which turned out to be a local one. This engaged the kids more. Love the resources that were included. The amount of things they learnt that not only taught them the history of an area, but also valuable skills such as reading a historical photo. I think it incorporates the new histories curriculum very well and I am looking forward to teaching the rest of the kit next year.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It was good to have valuable resources and kits to back up what I was teaching. That boosted my confidence while taking students through the tasks.
