How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The kit has improved my confidence as I now know more stories that relate to Aotearoa and I know that they are true and accurate stories that i can use with my class next year.

“The tamariki have enjoyed looking at all of the resources in the kit and they found the online platform engaging. We did struggle with the Pepeha side of things; however, this is something for us to work on.”

“This is an amazing resource! The links to each area of the ANZH curriculum is obvious, and thinks about viewpoints from many different sources. I think the pictures have been amazing - they have been an excellent introduction to the topic, talking about what might have happened here. Unfortunately I haven't been able to dive as deep as I have wanted to with it, but I look forward to continuing with it next year, and in the years to come!”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Yes. There are very limited stories for our local area at the moment. We are starting to gather local stories through Ngati Tuwharetoa Cultural Knowledge booklets. This format is a good teacher source

“There was great coverage nation wide of historical events and my kids were generally interested. However, there were many setback that dwindled my kids engagement and understanding of the history. My year 5 and 6 class generally found the content too difficult to do independently. Even though they are the same age, there is quite a range of literacy ability in my class. Some of the links didn't work for the tasks and some of the content i.e. diary entries, accounting examples etc. were too difficult to read or interpret.”
