“This was very useful as it provided great teaching and learning ideas that could be adapted for use with other resources. Lots of discussion around different viewpoints and evaluating the source of stories and information made it a very valuable resource. Almost too much to cover!”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? These are good resources to help deliever NZ Aotearoa histories. However needs a lot of scaffolding for students.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It hasn't really impacted on teaching the new curriculum - we already covered similar stuff in the social studies curriculum.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We have been doing place based learning for a few years but this has helped broaden our scope and shown us a way of doing local stories with the children.

“We REALLY loved this kit! Such a great resource. Two classes came together to do an inquiry in groups of 3 and were allocated a postcard each. We had difficulty navigating some of the digital sites and some particular content was too challenging for our Year 4 & 5s to work through independently but were supported by teachers. Think more suitable to Intermediate and up. Suggestion would be to split the pages by curriculum level (so L1 click into 'this' page, L2 this page or by year level etc) as our kids got a bit confused with all the different information on the page (even though we said left side, task 1 etc). They didn't understand the core messages (e.g racism, sexism etc) but it was a great introductory inquiry and will set them up for continuing this kind of learning in years to come. Opened us up to being able to discuss these kind of topics.”
