“This fantastic kit links well to the new NZ History/Social Sciences curriculum. The kit was engaging and inspired students to learn about their family history and ancestors. The resources contained in the kit were impressive, and the students were keen to get involved. We ran out of time and didn’t complete all recommended activities.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? As a teacher it has supported my confidence in my delivery. I know that this resource was designed with the Understand, Know, Do in mind so fulfils the requirements of the ANZH curriculum.

“This is an amazing resource. It is such an informative and engaging resource. The children have been really inspired to delve into the different layers of information and activities. In my class, we have certainly just touched the surface of the resource and Aotearoa New Zealand Histories.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Alot more confident as it has resources to support my knowledge, as well as resources to support knowledge that I wasn't aware of.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? My colleagues and I are highly motivated!

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? Heartwarming. We cover Social Justice every year, so it's been moving to know and share with the students the importance/value of iwi/whānau and community voice this day and age. Unlike in the past where Te Reo was banned and having brown skin was frowned upon.
