“These resources are well made. We did not have time to go through all of them, but only used the ones pertinent to what we were studying. They took some time for the students to get through and the students were thoroughly engaged. As a tauiwi, I also learned a great deal.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The kit has offered a wonderful resource of images and frameworks to assist with the teaching of primary sources. The students were engaged and interested in the stories and we have now eaten our way through the entire selection of Griffiths biscuits - just to make sure we knew what they tasted like! The ability to offer different perspectives and to hear the students reacting to older video footage and the commentary has made them much more aware.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Yes, we are creating our own google site with each student contributing their own card to it.

“Wow! The time and effort that has been given to this incredible resource deserves to be acknowledged. The images, the history and the tasks are well worth investigating. Our class focussed on three very different ones and was engaged with each card. We learnt so much about different types of resources and how historians go about weaving the sources together to gain a better understanding and to paint a picture from different perspectives.
