How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I am already very fond of history and love to teach it.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Yes. However, I prefer world history. NZ history only captures a small section of human history overall.

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? Interesting - I believe I have already posted an extensive review at the time I completed this kit. So I am unsure why I am being asked again. The kit was excellent with the exception of the newspaper articles which had inappropriate material in amongst the relevant stories - if this is the one I am thinking of.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Definitely - we have bought in a treasure from home and told stories about where these came from as well as looking at our local area.

“Super exciting kit - was a treat opening. Tamariki enjoyed the pictures and newspaper articles -was a step back in time and they were excited to see what each item was. They commented about how old the items looked and we talked about how they were treasures to be explored and they may be able to explore their family treasures at home.”

“When we received this kit the students were really quite excited! They were very excited about the cards and historical photos, cards, tokens, etc. They felt quite excited to read through the information and during this unit I showed the class a small nugget of gold that my son had found down in Otago during the summer holidays. What a great unit of materials to share with 32 year 7&8s and the conversations we discussed as a class. I would be very happy to use this again. Thank you for taking the time to find these resources and materials and writing the unit. I really was much appreciated!!!”

How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? Students could navigate the resources well. From our exploration we created a museum focusing on some areas we had highlighted close to us. Lots of interest in Chin Ting
