How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Yes it has. It promoted great discussion and groupwork. It improved their research skills. We explored the historical contexts and perspectives surrounding Whanganui at that time.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Yes, because the students are becoming quiteself driven and self motivated to find out more information As a teacher I am exploring the stories with the students too. I allowed them to share and present their findings in ways that suited them.

“I really loved this resource. I loved that it was so open. The local stories of the female entrepreneurs were brilliant for our students, especially in a girl heavy class. They were really engaged in using papers past and other websites to find out more about Margaret Bullock etc. We worked our way through the stories from Year 5-6 to YEar 7-8, and even touched on the Year 9-10Autonomy stories. Thecontent was very thoroughly researched and well presented, and SchoolKit had some great supporting teacher notes to use.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Ready made resources had a very positive impact in my teaching. I was able to be more specific in my teaching for certain groups of students.

“The resources provided in this school kit proved useful in the classroom to spark discussion, particularly the visual sources as they are something my students struggle to analyse frequently.
