As the kit has made it so easy to deliver the content, and I got to spend this term ironing out some kinks in my delivery as well as trialing various way to deliver it, I'm more confident. However, it still allows us to be on the same learning level as my students, which is often when they learn best too - when they teachers learning along with them!!
How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model?
I have recently taken the lead in the local curriculum development for my kura. I've started creating this resource based on a similar model, with a photo and then the local iwi story on the area too. I'm going to work with the iwi to also ensure I have the right pepeha for each area!!
