Did you Encounter Stories You Didn't Know Before?
yes
How effective was the student facing website (somethinghappenedhere.co.nz) for your learners?
How effective were the Teacher Support Materials in the School Kit Squad website?
How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content?
It has taught me a load more about Aotearoa's history, has given me more ideas about how to get students working with photos, and given me more knowledge about the online resources available and ideas of how our students can use these.
How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model?
We had already been exploring our local history but at a fairly superficial level. Now I'm more inspired to get our students researching for themselves some of our local stories.
How significant was the impact of this kit on your confidence in delivering the Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content?
How would you rate your knowledge of the new Aotearoa NZ histories curriculum content prior to using this kit?
What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community?
I think that has been a real key to making this such an awesome kit. We have talked about getting our local community involved in our school's local history inquiry but it's been hard going so far. This kit has given me a reminder of how important input from our local families will be for learning about our areas' real history.
