“Lovely packaging and kit. Great visual images. Good discussion points. The children were curious about the kit and wanted to explore the artefacts. It linked in with some of our topic, but some aspects didn't. I have a mixed Year 3 and 4 and some of it was a bit advanced for my children.”

“My class and I absolutely loved working our way through the kit. The cards and items were really engaging and really piqued my kids' interest. The website is well laid out and easy to use. The stories provoked a lot of really interesting conversations. We found that the kids wanted to explore further and our local community got involved.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? The majority were already highly confident as historians and teach a lot of NZ histories, but for those that don't it was very useful.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We already do this very well as we have a close relationship with mana whenua as a school and do local trips at Social Studies and History level.

“The postcards, artefacts and website were a real hit with the students, allowing them to touch, feel and engage more with their tasks. The 3 different stories and levels of work were awesome for catering to the needs of the students. As always another amazing resource that makes teachers' lives easier and the students get authentic knowledge that has been well researched.”
