How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It certainly has introduced me to a new way of approaching this curriculum.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Absolutely - next year I am going to part of the Kura Ahurea professional development in my area and I am excited as to how I can use the kit to support that learning.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I think we have been unpacking the new curriculum well as a small staff of 3; this kit will make us 'dig deeper' and

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I think we have understimated the resources on our doorstep&our local 'historians' such as our local Museum/archives there as well as members of our community who hold so much knowledge. As we celebrated 125 years of our school last year and collated 'student voice' from past pupils-we now want to carry on and digitise some of these memories.

“We have been working on "Tahakopa-Our Place" in regards to the shipwrecks which have occurred in and around our coastline. The students have only started unpacking this kit; their research skills and questioning around "Our Place" has been a good basis for unpacking the new reource.”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? As it has increased my curiosity, I have found myself wanting to explore the Manawatu regions local history and find local stories that may have impacted my students and their families.

“My class greatly enjoyed exploring the Prerana topic and all the resources that went along with it. The stories were told in simple but effective ways. This allowed my students to understand the racism prevalent at the time. My particular school created a museum showcasing our student's new understandings and knowledge. Each class had a different topic to learn and showcase in the museum. It is our hope we will continue using these kits throughout the years switching the stories between classes.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? My confidence has has a great boost as it I find it difficult to ensure students get an all-round approach of the history and not just "tokenism" teaching

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? As a CoL we have been working hard to implement a local curriculum for our area. I believe this model can be used well as we have a rich and dynamic history in our area.

“this was fantastic! I liked how it had the new curriculum "understands, knows, dos" as it was a great way to give them a go and integrate them into my planning. Students loved learning about the different people and places and were able to have some indepth conversations about the difference between now and then.”
