How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Not a lot of confidence where there was a huge amount needed to get through and understand. Perhaps less is more.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? It has motivated students to explore the history of our local area - however we do have many transient families, who may not call this area home for a long period of time.

“Aotearoa NZ Histories 23 had good intentions, but my students struggled with some aspects of it. Especially much of the online historical videos - while I can see the potential and meaningful way of how it was represented, some videos were hard to see or make it important details in the historical video.”

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? So so awesome. Some of my children found their iwi by way of recognising the pepeha on the card. They went on to being so much more connected to the information because it meant something. I’ve LOVED watching the students share their whakapapa and the stories they’ve discovered. Some of the content has popped up in our circle time sessions and the discussions have been enlightening and inspiring to what else is to come.
