How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I've learnt a lot about so many areas of our beautiful country, it's great to have resources that share these stories all in one place.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? It's a great model, definitely will look further into our local stories in a similar way.

It's really important to have the input and support of our māori communities in these contexts. If we're to do this right, and teach our history correctly then have open communication is key.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Definitely improved my sense of confidence as it made the content I had to teach more engaging and relevant.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I didn't have the time or energy during that unit of teaching, but am definitely excited to try out a more localised, personal search for history in my area.

“This kit was just a treasure trove of little moments and I was so excited to examine each piece and start to connect them with the deeper learning online. My students were so engaged with the stories they began to explore, as the practical 'props' or taonga were new and so unique. Just a gorgeous resource and I look forward to teaching this unit again next year with this kit.”

“Aotearoa NZ Histories is a rich resource. As it stands, the resource is not one I could use straight out of the box. It required a lot of navigation and breaking down to what would best suit my class. Also in order to meet my classes needs, I had to tackle different ways of teaching it. It relies heavily on devices and we preferred to use it as a whole class resource and then send children away with tasks to explore.”

“Originally I intended to use this with my Year 10 students but ran out of time. I did, however, find it a very useful resource to use with my senior History students. It was great to see them exploring and connecting the stories and learning along the way. A great resource for further analysis and exploration of a story.”
