Did you Encounter Stories You Didn't Know Before?
Yes
How effective was the student facing website (somethinghappenedhere.co.nz) for your learners?
How effective were the Teacher Support Materials in the School Kit Squad website?
How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content?
I think the kit is a great tool for teachers to use. It takes some of the stress out of trying to prepare the content and means we can get straight into the meat of engaging with the content and getting our students on board.
How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model?
I would be interested in taking some of that storytelling aspect and applying it to our local area. We've been in touch with the marae we whakapapa to and I think it would be possible to apply some of the kit's model to our own.
How significant was the impact of this kit on your confidence in delivering the Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content?
How would you rate your knowledge of the new Aotearoa NZ histories curriculum content prior to using this kit?
What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community?
I think it made it all feel very real to the students. When they get things made by their teachers, I think there's always the thought of bias in the back of their minds.
Which of the following archives were you aware of and using with your students prior to kit?
RNZ, Digital NZ, Papers Past, NZ On Screen, Ngā Taonga, National Library
