How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? They share what they like about each other. We have introduced kindness notes to our reading activities. They love writing and reading them. They mix more with each other and have quite fluid friendships.

Very relevant as the first term was very disrupted with students away and lots of teacher changes (I was off for surgery and my reliever got covid, then her children got covid). It meant that I could settle them all into term 2 and create a positive clas

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The activities where fun and relatable for the students. They created a basis for classroom discussion on kindness and being aware of others.
Ka rawe our kit arrived into wiki 5 but then omincon struck but did it stop us no we unpacked our kete and played around with how we could best use it in our akomanga. We were able to have a discussion around what actions and behaviours we need to show in around our kura and whare. We were also able to utilise half of our books as a healthy lunches incentive and use that data for our focus in pangarau - Statistics. Love our kete and can't wait for our next kete in Term 2.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It has been lovely to see students being motivated by each other to create connections during playtime. It allowed shy and reserved students to feel that they had a goal to work towards.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Very relevant as we are explicitly teaching collaborative behaviours that have not been learned as the students have had so little time in school and early childhood.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Noticed a change in the conversations and play that others were participating in throughout the day - more inclusive and were eager to listen to others ideas.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Very relevant during Covid - with students coming in and out it meant they became empathetic towards those students who may not have buddies at school. It also meant that the big ideas from the kit were able to be shared with parents at home as well.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Awareness of feelings. Promoting listening skills. Discussion from this kit included questioning the idea of a 'best friend' and we concluded that we can all be friends. This is a good platform to go into the playlunch project next term.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Very relevant during covid. With young children we needed to be present at school together for this kit to function.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? For my new entrants, the kit created discussion around how we feel and how to be a friend. This discussion also encouraged children to listen to each other.
My Year 3 class enjoyed exploring the kit and particularly the class battery and play lunch project. We initially struggled to find a way to use the battery that flowed and worked for our class, especially since class treaties had already been developed and the term was underway. I did like the idea of using the battery as part of our morning routine and students continue to use it to identify how they are feeling when they arrive at school in the morning. The playlunch project was an amazing way for children to be encouraged to interact with others who they may not usually choose to play with. I noticed a real empowerment of all the children being uplifted by one another and feeling a sense of inclusion. I will definitely be using this idea in years to come.

I found some parts of this more useful than others- the resources that had lots of reading weren't as useful for my year 1 class. I liked the card idea and the use of the stickers to promote those respectful relationships.

Very good, the tamariki have been able to explain to new and returning students what the whole concept of the School Kit is. They can really relate to the characters and video's supplied.
This kit was very helpful in enhancing respectful relationships within the children in my class. It helped me to prepare interesting and engaging activities for my students. We have had great time learning about the Maori philosophy of Hauora and doing a variety of collaborative activities linked to Te Whare Tapa Wha. We discussed the emotions and learned about the importance of recognising how others are feeling and how to stay in control.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? I found students learnt alot about body language. Stopping and noticing how someone looks and thinking about how they feel before they talk to them, or approaching someone and asking "are you ok?".
This arrived late, so I have only been able to use part of it this term. I am pleased with what I have used and the children have learnt a lot about respect and how to be respectful to each other. They also have learn to accept themselves and what respect for themselves by themselves and by others looks like.
