How successful has this kit been in building the relationships between students in your classroom?

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Students are perhaps more conscious of their behaviours and how they impact other people. At 6 and 7 years old it's pretty natural for students to be self centered, but this kit has helped build empathy and compassion.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? I love that students were challenged to interact with and get to know students outside their social circles.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? With students going out and coming back constantly, students have had to form new friendships while their best mate is away. This kit has helped them to do this easier.

How relevant has this kit been in your class during covid times?

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Yes it has continued to make us more aware of how we can support others in our classroom environment. We have lots of sharing and helping others happening on a daily basis.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? We have been working hard on building a respectful classroom, where everyone feels happy and safe. We are continuing to have discussions about how we could approach things in a better way, ensuring we are treating everyone with kindness.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Yes this kit has worked well for us at this time.

How relevant has this kit been in your class during covid times?

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We have had some intense discussions about relationships, how we can ensure these are positive and a happy experience for everyone. Respect is a big part of our school SHARP initiative, we were able to link the information to this.

“This kit looks amazing ! However due to the current work climate and covid playing havoc in school. We have not had the opportunity to start properly do to staff and student absences. Hoping next term is a reset and we can give it a good go.”

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? I have looked through the kit's content. This will work well for my year 2s.

“Loved being able to pick and choose the activities that suited my class. Some of the instructions were a bit hard to follow- but overall AMAZING resource. My class are working so well together and are really beginning to show understanding of empathy and emotion. We have loved the Playlunch activity and I have never seen a class work so well together, I really think it is due to this activity.”

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Positively. Our class were reminded how to be a good classmate and be kind/ work with others.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Yes. We have spent a lot of time away from school, so this was a great way to remind the children how to have healthy, positive relationships with each other.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Absolutely. It was very explicit and was great to have a visual/ physical display to represent respectful relationships and what we can do to support these.
