Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was quite unsure for a start but my confidence grew as I realised how ";onboard "; the students were and how much this had already affected them.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How relevant it was to the students and how many had had problems.
Thank you for the opportunity to use this kit. I have paced it out a bit slower than I usually do with you great kits so I will complete it next week. By taking it slowly it has given me time to reflect on each lesson and plan the next. It meant that we could tie our day to day experiences and problems into our learning. A highlight has been using the term online and offline boundaries as this has transferred into our daily chats about ICT. I was slow to start as I wasn't feeling confident but the information that was put on Facebook was very helpful. It also made me realise others felt the same. Strengths for me with this unit was working with my team as 4 of us were doing it tying it into our ICT time. We loved the scenario cards and the different points of view definitely ignited discussions! As a class, we tied a novel into our learning that was very relevant. ";Just End It"; by Donna Blaber. This book tackles the issues of cyberbullying, bullying, undesirable content, internet rules. Thank you for providing this kit. It will be carefully packed away to reuse annually.

Great kit, with some good resources that can be translated to other parts of the day (eg: Marble voting)

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Their openness to share experiences, and their maturity ( Y7 and 8 ) around tricky topics and understanding some of their previous behaviours maybe were questionable online, but more from naivety than malice.

Many were able to join in the discussions, they took on the One identity m

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That boundaries ( school v home) are some times a bit blurry and different, their willingness to share their views around their personal activity online.
My class and myself could have spent much more time on this project and we are still finalising how will will present our learning. I think this kit would be an awesome resource for all teachers to implement and teach in their classes. If we are all on the same page around online behaviours for pre teens and teens we would have less bullying and knowledge around what is appropriate and what is not. Thanks again SchoolKit and partners another winner!

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? A lot more students had seen more inappropriate images and material than first thought and they acted if this was normal. (I used the kit with Year 9's)

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How much they knew about all sorts of stuff I did not know about
Overall a great tool. I used it with my Year 9's but will use again next year. Feedback was that the year 9's felt the Year 7/8's needed a lot of support on how to use digital technologies safer.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Things I thought were a given weren't e.g. talking with a stranger and them asking to meet you after school - common sense would be you wouldn't but I had a couple of students who said they would and they were adamant they would. They came up with excuses

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Had some very mature answers - which was nice. Some of these came from students I wouldn't have thought would think like this. The students who had/played apps/games that weren't age appropriate and parents had signed them up!
informative, relevant , interesting and engaging resources

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was comfortable with this and we have done Keeping Ourselves Safe and puberty. We great to have the resources and scaffolding. The scenario cards were great as we could use them to talk in a mature manner about the tricky topics

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How many parents do not even know what their children are doing online. When I asked the students if their parents knew they had certain accounts or that they were talking to strangers most said their parents didn’t even know
My class really gained from the scenario cards and brainstorming all the good and bad choices. Some of the activities I found a bit confusing but we used the main resources in our own way. The voting marbles worked very well and we linked it to statistics which we were doing in maths this term and would graph the results of the votes in different ways.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? My kids were a lot more cognisant of online dangers and behaviours than I expected. It was interesting to note though their perceived lack of 'real-world follow through' i.e. that things could exists solely as an 'online' problem or safety issue without i

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I was surprised at the leap to judgment made by my students rather than trying to be empathetic towards the characters in the various situations. This lead to some really rich discussion and unpacking in our classroom.
I found the kit to be an incredible classroom resource. The situations were well nuanced for children in today's digital age and provided a wide range of scope for teaching, discussion and exploration. The lesson sequences were easy to follow and engaging for students. Each task was clearly relevant to the concept as a whole.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit Some of the cards I avoided as we were having really useful discussions. I didn't want to ruin that as I felt the responses would be more of a silly nature, especially from the year 8 boys.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? In past attempts to discuss online safety the class were quite flippant about it and didn't really engage. Through these activities they thought about the issues and their own experiences more deeply.
My class really enjoyed the activities and the materials and equipment provided were so useful. The only activity that was a little young for my year 8 class was the ring of invisibility. The class played along a little bit but felt it was a bit youn g for them
