In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I was expecting them to not know as much as they did. They were very mature and aware of a lot of dangers associated with online activity.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was very comfortable teaching this unit - it did follow our Navigating the Journey unit so we had covered a lot of topics that are not normally covered at school.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Yes - I was surprised by how aware they actually are! Very well versed and taught around the dangers of online activity.

“We really enjoyed this kit! It was very relevant as we had covered a lot of similar material in our Navigating the Journey health unit in Term 3. The learners are very aware of dangers online and we found the 'That's out of Line Cards' as well as the Online and Offline Boundaries activities very relevant and engaging.”

They didn't change though was surprised at how naive some of the students were and then the other end of how 'worldly' some were. Also the amount of students who have been bullied on line was alarming. Programme showed its worth when I had a student las

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit There were a couple of cards my colleague and I decided to omit because of the maturity of our students - but was very comfortable in delivery of the kit overall

How open they were to discussions - how it was a relief for some of them to be able to talk about it How straight away one student said - what you say online should be the same as if you would offline but unfortunately it isn't at times.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? There are a lot more students who have access to social media accounts, or accounts of their own, without knowing how much this can affect them.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit As a younger teacher, i did find some of the more mature content a little nerve racking to teach. It was definitely out of my comfort zone and i tended to choose content that would be more directly relevant at the time.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? - How much knowledge they have about 'adult' content. - How my students were very quick to criticize some of the people on the 'That's out of line cards' but didn't realise that by changing the context they were sometimes guilty of displaying the same be

“A well planned kit that allowed me to explore how to teach some content that i would otherwise feel quite uncomfortable teaching my class about. I like that i now have the resources and developing confidence to approach these topics.”

“This kit was the source of excellent discussion that students could really relate too. I found it quite difficult to follow from a teaching point especially the games so just did my own thing with the resources. This is a kit with resources in it that I will keep using. Thanks again school kit.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? They have a clearer understanding of what is real online, and what is right and wrong. They understand that what they put out online matters and they need to make sure that they think before posting.
