“These resources are very up to date and effective for engaging students at all ability levels. The teacher materials were easy to follow and generated great discussions with my class around online behaviours and situations that result from social media.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I wasn’t surprised that kids had seen uncomfortable things online, but I was surprised by the places/sites that had made them uncomfortable.

“Much more straight forward than kits I’ve done in the past, this was easy for teachers and interesting and engaging for students. Great kit!”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I actually found that the boys in my class engage more than the girls in digital platforms and that parents of boys appear less concerned about their sons action in online platforms.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? They didn't really change. I knew there was lot's going on in their digital world when not at schoool with the safety of our network.

I didn't realise how many were online with different things, some Tik Tok etc which have age restrictions. I communicated with parents about age and the i

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I am on the school IT lead team so I am very aware of the dangers and issues surrounding online content, nothing was a shock to me or made me feel uncomfortable.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? So many children in my class were very open about their experiences online, I was pleased they felt they were in a safe enough place to do so.

“This is our second School Kit this year and we enjoyed it as much at the first. We started it as soon as we received it in term 3 and therefore almost felt like pioneers as we really had to think about what some of the activities were asking of us. We will be requesting more School Kits in the future!”

“Kit was a little hard to follow but was really timely to do with our Year 6 students. Was scary to see how many had seen or been a part of unsafe behaviour while online, how many have social media accounts that have unknown people on them and how many share personal information about themselves without even knowing they've done it!”
